GAS SOLVENT RECOVERY

Solvent recovery occurs by transferring the pollutant in the gaseous emission to an absorbent material such as activated carbon (adsorption) and then removing it with a hot liquid (regeneration).
If solvents are not water soluble, steam regeneration is the preferred method as it is easier to condense, cool and separate from the solvent to be recovered.
Water-soluble or partially soluble pollutant regeneration occurs using a gas (usually nitrogen) cooled by condensation of the solvent to be recovered.
Facilities are equipped with support systems to:

  • Condensation Process;
  • Steam consumption reduction (economizer);
  • Drying the recovered solvent;
  • Distillation of recovered solvents.
